As most of these guestbook signings say, Duke Jupiter was and still is the best Rochester ever had. I agree with everyone that all the albums need to be rereleased on CD. Marsh I wish I could make it to the concert at Finger Lakes but I have to work. Gonna miss seeing you. Keep in touch and se you at the next family reunion when we have one.

Someone needs to release the "Begin Again" EP, or at least make "Can't Give You Up" and "Speed Limit" available. Here is a list of non-album tracks that should be on the box set: - all four "Begin Again" EP tracks, "Begin Again", "Rock And Roll Band", "Can't Give You Up", and "Speed Limit". - "Begin Again" - b-side of "I'll Drink to You" single, different version than the EP - "Rock And Roll Band" single version, different than "Begin Again" EP and "I" lp version. - "You Make It Look Easy" single version, different from lp version. - "Days Between Us" single version on Mercury without piano intro Can I oversee the compilation of the box set? Thanks.

Hi Everybody!! Bengo's right. I'm the singer from our old group Badland (the one holdin' the guitar in the picture below), and we used to murder the audience with "Lovin'You Like I Do, Gonna Need Somebody (To keep me out of trouble tonight), and my personal favorite: I Joined A Rock 'N Roll Band. I still do these songs in different groups and they still work-TIMELESS ROCK 'N ROLL. Thanks Duke Jupiter for adding so much fun and inspiration to our gigs for the last 20 years. //Rev. Bob

I just wanna say how big a fan I am of Duke Jupiter. I have a friend who just happened to own a bunch of vinyls of DJ and played them for me. I copied all of those albums, twice because I wore out the first copies I had made. I hope to acquire the greatest hits Cd, but, I hope you guys don't forget to rerelease your actual albums. I hope to have all your albums on CD so I can pass on this great music.

Duke Jupiter is one of the best bands I have heard. It's a pity I wasn't around at any point in their career, as I was born in 87. I found out about them by accident, but what a great accident it was! I'd like to get DJ's albums but I live in Great Britain so its kinda hard, which is a pity because there are only a couple of mp3s on my downloading service. (Saxaphone, This is Japan, Sugar Blues & a couple of others) If anybody could give me information about how to get them, or about the band I would really appreciate it! I can't join the mailing service for some reason, which is a pity. from possibly the youngest DJ fan.

Yes! DJ is probably my favorite band of all time. I saw them (only twice, though) at the Cork'n'Bottle in '82 and '84, and I was lucky enough to have Greg Walker hand me their playlist for the night,('82), which I still have, safely tucked-away inside my pristine copy of Duke Jupiter 1!!! I have been trying incessantly to locate their CD's for sale, I would gladly buy every single one of them right now, if it were possible! This band really should come around this area again (wishful thinking)! Also, I would like to say that if the guys do check this site, know that I have been playing the music for friends, mentioning them, and just generally keeping them alive here in my little corner of the country! Come Back!!! (And issue CD's)! Please!

DJ1 and You make it look easy are my two favorites I still have The Line of your Fire. I'd heard of the band for the first time in/around mid"79". I don't remember the tune but, knew I liked this band. I was in Denver at the time. I moved to Kansas city in 1980 and then heard something from "DJ1". I got that album, right away. In fact almost wore it out. Also purchased a second copy along with a cassette (just in case). Saw you in Kansas City in March(?) of 1981...excellent show. Next, I saw the band again, in KC in May of 1984. The band headlined the show (it was the opening day of Sandstone Amphitheater. I believe the opening acts were hair bands but, I was there to see Duke (again, excellent show). Thank you for all your hard work and, I hope to hear more from the band too.

I would like any information on the possibility of any Duke Jupiter albums, especially the Greatest Hits album, available on CD, used or otherwise. I know its been awhile since the albums have beeen last released, and I am thinking that it might be a possibility that some of these albums might be rereleased if there was big demand. Other bands from the '80's have either rereleased albums from that period in recent years, or have produced new greatest hits compilations.

The first time I heard Duke Jupiter was when they opened for Blue Oyster Cult in the early eighties. I was impressed- I still remember them clearly and I'm now turning some people on to this band's great music. I also hope that somehow the future of their talents has something to offer, even if it is only through a band who was inspired by this group. Where I live, rap & country are now taking over the airwaves. I like those styles somewhat, but it's not what I prefer. Duke Jupiter was a nice suprise when I first heard them & I want to hear more.

I first caught the band live when I snuck into The Red Creek when I was 16 or 17 -- 1978 or 79 -- and I was blown away. I was a lousy but curious guitar player then (and still am) and couldn't believe the great sound Don Maracle had, bright and clean, but fat . . . I think he played an Alembic was it? . . . through a Mesa Boogie tube amp. He had a fabulous sound and some mindblowing chops. And the band was so tight, so hot, I ran out and got Sweet Cheeks immediately. I have never been all that keen on the later, power-pop stuff, but Sweet Cheeks will always be one of my "desert island" discs. Many years ago my copy had warped too badly to play-- I finally downnloaded some of the tracks off Napster (sorry!, but I had nowhere else to turn--would pay if I could). I hadn't heard them in probably 15 years, but I still love them and have been listening to them lots. I wish I could find the other tracks that no one on Napster ever had. Really great stuff, and a unique sound. Thanks for lots of great listening.

The first time I heard DUKE JUPITER was on KTCL in Fort Collins Colorado, back in the early 80's. The song was called "Poppy." I loved the tune and found the album, which was "Taste the Night." Thinking "Poppy" was probably the only good tune on the album, I was soon blown away by the whole album! So, I then went out and scored a copy of "Duke Jupiter 1," which is also a phenominal LP. Well, that was some time ago. And due to some unfortunate circumstances, I no longer have either LP. So now I'm on a quest to find "TASTE THE NIGHT" and "DUKE JUPITER 1" on CD. Can anyone help me?

A few months ago (look farther below on this guest list) I asked if anyone had Duke Jupiter's CD's and I've come to find out that there were none available. But after signing this guest book I received an E-mail from Mr. Ellis (now of Ellco Entertainment) and he informed me that there were a few copies of "And the Band Played ON" available right now. He requested that I use a service called "Pay Pal" to pay for the CD or to send a check to his address. I used "Pay Pal" and was waiting to get ripped off, but instead I received my CD in less than a week (even over Labor day weekend) and this CD rocks. Do yourself and/or your kids a favor, get this CD!

I loved the song "I'll drink to you".....can someone please tell me the name of the song that had the lyric "that old flame" in the chorus? Some of the lyrics went something like this "We could take a ride, find a place to park" and "that old flame keeps on burnin'........any help would be much appreciated.

Great memories, great music! Never missed a gig in the Auburn area! How about another reunion tour for us die-hard fans? Well at least re-release the albums on CD's! We play your albums at every party, but they're getting kinda shot!

I think early Duke Jupiter was one of the most tasteful bands in the Rochester area. I saw them a number of times at Red Creek and in Geneseo. The two quitars was great and their early songs were great. I kind of lost interest when they started doing vocals and played harder rock. One of the best "live on the radio" concerts I ever heard was when Duke Jupiter played downstairs at WCMF. I think it was around 1976. I would love to find a copy of the tape from that concert. I know it was taped because CMF played songs from it quite a bit for the next few months.

I stumbled onto your website by doing a search on my computer. I've been kicking myself for many years for not buying "Whiteknuckle Ride" when it came out. I was too poor then, and thought I could get it later. "Little Lady" is one of those awesome songs that somehow gets lost from radio. I don't know how, because it's so much better than the songs that get played over & over. I too would like to have a best of CD by Duke Jupiter.

Hey guys! I just want to say that you are one of the bands that influenced me in my younger years. I first saw you on MTV in the video for Little Lady. I was hooked from then on. I've gone through 5 copies of White Knuckle Ride since then, and I only hope that your albums will be available on CD someday. I've never seen you in person, although I have some friends who have and they say you guys rocked! Your career wasn't very long, but I still have the memories of watching MTV waiting for your videos to come on. As Casey Kasem used to say, "Keep your feet on the ground, and keep reaching for the stars." Good luck with all your future endeavors!

Turning 40 this year and I'm looking to re-stock my CD collection with the great music I grew up with on LP's. I need to give my kids the best real rock sounds as an alternative to the mostly crap sounds put out today. Anyone know where I can get the CD's if any? House of Guitars does not stock them.

I am a fan and was wondering where the hell i can get my hands on that cd. I have looked and inquiried about it everywhere. Not too many people have heard of duke jupiter. I appreciate their work and am wondering, can you help me? Any suggestions? I look forward to hearing from someone soon. Thanks a bunch. Rob
