This will sound strange
to many of those who alread know and love this group, but today was the
first time I ever heard of "Duke Jupiter". I just happened to hear 2 songs today, "I'll Drink to You" and "Rockin in a Motel Room" and
loved them so much I had to search the net for a web site. And here it
is!!! I grew up listening to all the great rock of the 70's, and don't
know how I missed hearing about this group. I maybe a newbie as far as
fan status is concerned, but I love this music and will eagerly search
for more songs by Duke Jupiter to enjoy!!!!

Can I get your music anywhere? My brothers and their friends listened to your
music in the late 70's, early 80's. I am ten years younger than they are and
rekindled or recycled the music so to speak. I absolutely love it! I hope the
band members check out this website and realize that all of us, and more, would
support you in re-releasing any and all your music on CD! We need and want it.
Our little town, with the international boxing hall of fame, has many people
who feel the same. So PLEASE help us out and give us your music to go along with
our captured memories in time again. You ARE apart of them and rightly so. So
what do you say?? Sign your own guestbook with a response and let us know. Thanks
from then and now.

FINALLY I found something
on Duke Jupiter. Loved "I'll Drink to You" back in the 80's living in
Rochester but could never find anything in the stores after moving away.
It'd be great to find a CD somewhere, sometime. Nice to hear the song
again on the website. First time I've heard it in about 13-14 years.
Mike
Atlanta, GA USA -
C'mon guys get all your albums back in print. All I got left is an old partied
out copy of White Knuckle Ride on
LP. And my turntable took a dump.I want 'em all on CD.
Been a loyal fan for almost 20 years.Hardly fair it seems
to leave us all hanging.I know for a fact that every one of these folks in your
guestbook would gladly lay down $20.-$25. a copy on CD. Let the record companies
chew on that.
Man, we just want our tunes back. All those years we lived and breathed it.Push
some buttons Greg.

I was in the traffic
jam at Lake Ontario to see DJ play. I was also in an old theatre in downtown
ra-cha-cha for their FINAL farewell in 1988---I left and so did they,
but they haven't left my heart or my mind. I tried forever to convince
Dave Kane to use "Cut It Loose" for his FRIDAY THEME instead of that ole' beat up harmonica crumungining song he still uses. DJ was a little more happening, and always will be! DJ stills lives in fans all over....and as the song goes "I've
had my eye on you a long time, now I'm available"

I am a forever fan from western NY that was a regular when you played every Thursday
night in Geneseo. I keep waiting for another reunion concert in Rochester! When
will it be? I have your greatest hits CD, but like all the other Duke Jupiter
fans, would like to see all your albums on CD!
Kate <kfrantz@coollink.net>
Portsmouth, RI USA -
As a veteran of many
live concerts I have to say you're the best. The Duke made you dance until
you dropped. If only it had been possible to bottle that night at the
Dolphin in Sodus Point and uncork it at will. Like so many others, I've
searched for your albums on CD only to find "And the Band Played On" at
the HOG. Come on, the market's there. In the meantime, All Hail to The
Duke! Rock on.
Boyd Kimball <blkimball@zlink.net>

I saw you guys when I went to Niagara University 78-82. I have a couple of your
albums and even copied your first two albums to 8-track so I could listen in
my car. I would kill to get your albums on CD now. I haven't heard The Ballad
of Louis and Guido in so long I can't remember. Now that I have found your website
I will check back often to see if you ever will sell your a lbums on CD. It's
good to see that there is still some interest in the band and your music. I have
spent many hours listening and will continue to do so. Thank you so much for
those enjoyable hours.

I recently came across
my old DJ tapes and reminisced a bit about my late 70's/early 80's high
school/college period. After a quick web search I came across this site...
I saw you guys at the Downtown Festival Tent (in -Cha), at The Z-on-88 (aka
Zappia's in Newark), and at some bar down by the Genesee river.
But my favorite concert of all-time, any artist, bar none - was when I was in
college at the University of Colorado in Boulder. J.Giels was kicking
off their Freeze-Frame tour at the campus events center and everyone was
going to that until I saw a flyer for your concert nailed to a telephone
pole! I couldn't believe you guys were coming to Boulder!!! I convinced
everyone on the floor to go, and you guys absolutely rocked the place.
It was HUGE! When everyone heard how good the DJ concert was, they were
kicking themselves for going elsewhere.
That concert is something I'll never forget·one of those moments captured in time. Here I was, a 19 y.o. kid, a thousand miles from home, a hometown band, my college buds and an absolutely incredible concert in a perfect venue (the old Boulder Theater). Every time I hear The Band Played On, I think of that concert. You must have come back out for six or seven encores· no one wanted to leave!
I'll drink to you guys·Thanx for the memories.

Yes! I remember "I'll Drink to You"! It's been one of my "pump-up" favorites
for years. I go back to it again and again for encouragement. Was it written
for George, by any chance? I had the tune on cassette from my worn-out
45rpm.
Thanks for putting it on the site. Hearing it fresh really gets me soaring.
The tune helped me get through a lot of life's little hang-ups. It's
like a nugget of gold.

I first saw you guys
at a small show near Rochester sometime in 1982. . .you guys rocked! A
couple years later, 1983 or 1984 maybe, I was driving down a stretch of
road somewhere outside of Cambridge, England when the English "wildcat" radio station,
Radio Caroline, played "I'll Drink to You." Don't know if you knew you got that
much airplay, but just in case you didn't know, you know now.

Gents, I worked at
a radio station in Kansas City that played your music, I took "I'll Drink To You" into
one of the clubs that I worked at. It quickly became our last song before
closing time, people were dancing their asses off and singing at the top
of their lungs. Thanks, guys for the great tunes. Hearing the MP3 brought back
so many great times. When you get the next batch of CDs done, please put
me on the list. You have my humble thanks for spreading the magic of music.

Hey, gang! After seeing
how many folk are looking to pick up Duke Jupiter goodies, I figured it'd
be easier just to post here, rather than e-mail each of them! At any rate,
if anyone really wants D.J. stuff, they need to check out a place called "The
House Of Guitars" at 645 Titus Avenue, Here in Rochester, NY. The place is an unholy MESS, but they do have lots of Duke. ( Be prepared to search a while!) My own personally favorite joint is a place called "The Record Archive", On Mt. Hope Avenue, also
here in Rochester. They also have plenty of D.J., and the place is
a whole lot more organized. ( And, quite frankly, their stuff is more fairly priced! ) Anyway, hope this helps, & Happy
Hunting!

I finally found "Sweet Cheeks" to round out the entire DJ collection! IMHO, DJ was one of the most under-rated bands. I have transferred some of the LPs to CD-R so I can listen to them in my car, but I'm wondering if DJ ever released any "Live" mater
ial (radio simulcasts)?? Does anyone have any copies, willing to trade? LMK...

I have been calling the radio station and request them to play some of your music

some of them and your's is one of the bands I am trying to replace. Could someone

Seen you guys in clubs in Rome in the late '70's and early '80's. I was happy
to see that you were recognized nationally. Great band, I miss those days.

I was doing a search on some bands and typed in Duke Jupiter, and bang!
Your site popped up. It was great reading some info on the band.
All I know about DJ is that a station in Presque Isle, ME, was deep into
DUKE JUPITER 1. They used to play 3 tracks from it when they were an AOR
station at one point. In university, I got a gig doing a rock radio show (mostly
classic rock), and used to spin tracks from that lp and the one after that (You
Make It
Look Easy). I was wondering what I could pick up on cd. In fact, other than
what the radio station had in the record library, I've never seen any DJ records
in
the shops.

Been listening to 'Taste the Night' since it came out, only recently found
copies of some of the other albums, looking forward to a reissue of the

acquiring

A great site for a great band. Greg, please keep up posted if you should
ever get the itch to hit the clubs and play in front of live audiences
again. (Or if
Marshall should ever make a trip north to - cross your fingers - play another
reunion show.)

Nice work on the website, Greg. Being a native of Rochester, I grew up
listening to Duke Jupiter, and whenever I'm back in town and hear you

music brings back some fond memories. If your Greatest Hits CD ever gets re-issued
or you have some extra copies lying around, let me know. I'd be interested
in
buying one. Best wishes

Hey Duke Jupiter!
When ya gonna get back in the saddle? I was "The Daily Show"
